CREDIT CONTROLLER - GERMAN

ROLE:
Responsible for managing a portfolio of clients ensuring timely collections of outstanding accounts whilst building & maintaining client relationships.
DETAILS:
Our client, a major US technology company, has a large finance department that executes a variety of financial tasks for a number of internal and external customers, as a part of which the Shared Services Centre (SSC) team provides accounting services to all European company sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for credit and collections for a new group ensuring a seamless support structure for the German region. The person will be based within the centralized SSC finance organization in Cork. As the role develops, it is possible that more opportunities will arise to expand the areas of responsibility.
Qualifications
Key Tasks
Manage and maintain Debtors & Sales Ledger.
Manage Customer Credit terms.
Dealing with customers in pursuit of payments due.
Reducing and maintaining debt within agreed targets.
Preparation of accounts for collection programmes and litigation.
Proposing solutions and suggestions to improve work practices/processes/policies.
Building relationships with internal and external customers.
Escalating accounts for resolution where barriers cannot be removed.
Liaise with the Credit Team in Europe to ensure that consistent processes are applied across all regions and that there is consistent treatment of corporate finance policies.
Ensure that month-end close timetable is followed supporting the regional close.
Liaison with external auditors.
Responsible for all Statutory Accounting and local statutory filings.
Develop with the role to expand responsibilities within the SSC organization.
SKILLS:
2+ Years Credit Experience in a multinational environment.
Team player with individual initiative.
Fluent German speaker.
Excellent communicator.
